Extraction of Follicular Units

Preparing the Recipient Site
The recipient site is the area where the follicular units are to be transplanted. The surgeon makes very small incisions in this area with the help of a scalpel or specialized needles. Like the extraction, the preparation of the recipient site is done under local anesthesia.
Insertion of Grafts
Once the grafts have been extracted and the recipient site has been prepared, the next step is to place these grafts in the incisions made. Each graft is carefully placed in the incisions. It takes a fair amount of time and the patient needs to remain patient. The process can take up to eight hours and depending on the number of grafts, further sessions may be required.
